First up is the famous Manneken Pis (1619). Stories abound of a lost boy found naked in the streets, or a brave lad extinguishing a burning fuse with his urine and saving the city from destruction. Seems this is all nonsense, and it’s just a surprisingly small statue of a chubby boy relieving himself.

Renowned for being naked, he actually has 200 natty outfits which are changed throughout the year. Here he is as Dracula… and here are some more of his dress up options.

Above the boy is a peeing space invader by French graph artist Invader.

Ensuring the boys don’t have all the urinary fun in Brussels is Jeanneke Pis (1985), who wees all day to the benefit of cancer research – any coins in her fountain go to a good cause.

And there’s a peeing dog (1998)! He’s quite fun too.
